LYFT RIDE SHARING ELECTION CAMPAIGN

THE CHALLENGE

15 million registered voters did not cast a ballot in the 2016 Presidential Election, and they cited transportation issues as the reason why. Given the narrow margins of recent elections, access to transportation is playing a critical role in shaping American democracy.

OUR SOLUTION

The Ride to Vote Campaign was launched, offering 50% discounted rides to and from the polls on November 6th for the 2018 Midterm Elections.

To bring attention to this initiative, while visually conveying the weight of lost ballots, our team erected an interactive mural made up of 10,000 ballots, on a heavy trafficked corner in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York City. Each “ballot” was printed with relevant facts to inform and encourage engagement.

THE RESULT

The tagline, Don’t leave ’em hanging, was so effective that an additional 20,000 ballots had to be printed and added to the installation, during the week long campaigns, as passerby’s kept removing and taking “ballots” to be a part of the art piece. We generate content to be distributed across all platforms to generate interest. The campaign was met with  critical acclaim and profiled across many publications and platforms at length on Adweek and ranked as the #3 Popular Now section that week.
